Socially Responsible Business Competition Awards Ceremony

JCI Business Competition

On December 10, 2009, LangLearner presented and compete at the JCI’s Socially Responsible Business Competition Awards Ceremony as a one of the top three finalist along with Cedric, John and Rachel. It was a great privilege to be selected and be part of the competition with some of the top contestants and liked-minded socially responsible entrepreneurs. All strive for making an impact and difference to the society with innovative products and business models.


The competition and event took place in St. Louis, MO but with the goal and mission gearing toward the global nations. The participation and exercise gave us more perspective and the an opportunity to go through a thoughtful process and plan to become a better social citizen as an enterprise and individuals.

About the JCI competition:

The search is on for the most innovative and socially responsible business plans by social entrepreneurs under 40 in the St. Louis area. The competition is open to both for-profit and non-profit initiatives from new or existing businesses. All entries must contribute to advancing one or more of the development goals outlined for the competition and show compliance with the UN Global Compact 10 Principles of Corporate Social Responsibility. A panel of top professionals in the St. Louis entrepreneurship community will judge the submissions. The winner will receive a cash grant and other support for the implementation of their plan.
